I haven't checked in for a while so I thought I'd say hi and tell you about my favorite thing!
Mom and Dad took me for a ride in the and let me tell you, I LOVE that!

But then they went to this cool place called Dairy Queen, where Dad ordered me !
The lady said, "Does your dog want a treat too?"
Dad said, "the cone IS his treat!"
So when I got my , it had tiny doggie treats on top of it!
OH man, that is the best!

Summer post, I do NOT swim!!

Hey Dudes,
My dad has been on this kick to get me to go in the water. I mean come on...has he noticed my very long Great Dane legs??
We live by Lake Michigan so he takes me to the beach, which is great. Other people, other cute dogs!
But then he wants me to put my feet in the water!

Has he noticed how cold it is?
Has he seen how big this water is and how far it goes?
I could
Besides, if he would just get me a life vest maybe that would help!

Get outta my yard!!

OK, this morning I was just recovering from a LONG walk with my mom, just hanging out. When all of a sudden someone walks right down the sidewalk in front of our house!
I look outside and it's this lady with PINK shoes and a weird little dog, just walking on our GRASS!

I mean come on...don't you know that "I" live here dude? This is MY grass.
So I barked at them through the front window. They just kept on walking, ON MY GRASS!

So what does a big do to make a point??

I knocked out the screen window!! Luckily Mom was there to hold me back or I would've just jumped out the window!

THEN the weird lady just stopped like she was gonna chat with Mom. I just couldn't stand the pink shoes. Then she walked away.
Problem solved.

People keep ringing the doorbell all the time. It drives me NUTS. And little kids are looking funny. What the heck? Then Mom put a hat on me.

Dad took me to that place that has the awesome cheeseburgers and I got one!
I had my pinchy collar on so I didn't jump out and run away.

When we got out of the car in front of the house Saturday afternoon, Dad got out first and I followed him and that freaking collar got caught...on his pants....AND....

pulled his pants down!!
All the neighbors were outside too!
I LOVE IT!!

He's back!!!

Up until recently the Kid really didn't like me much. I'm not sure why....I only went in his room and ate his Halloween candy when I got a chance. No big deal, right? Chewed up some of his shoes, hats and clothes. I didn't think he wanted them if they were on the floor! Geez...some people.

Well, I was able to charm his friends! They all LOOOVE me! Ian, Preston, Jacob, they all think I'm the "coolest dog" ever! I always come and greet them when they come over and we have a good time.
Well finally the Kid started liking me. I guess girls must like dogs, so maybe that's it. He actually told Mom one time to bring me along when I picked him up from band practice, because I'm "cool".
The Kid was gone last week, so it was just me and Mom all week. I mean that's ok, cuz she takes me on some long walks, which I love. BUT after a few days, I just couldn't eat because I was so bummed out that the Kid was gone.
Mom actually thought I was sick because I just laid there and sighed. I just couldn't eat until the Kid came back. Yesterday she even took me to McDonald's for a big burger thing!! It was great.

So last night, he came back!!! Yay! I'm so happy. Now things are back to normal.
PS.. I think I'm gonna be the Lakeshore Marching Band Mascot! heehee

I love my little friends!

Yesterday, I was napping and mom was sitting next to me, enjoying a beautiful day with the doors and windows open.
Suddenly we heard little voices outside calling "Howard! Howard, come out to play!"
So I jumped up and ran out there, it was my little friends! I have lots of little kids who like to come and hug me. They are shorter than me so I am very gentle with them.
It made me feel good. Then they went away, as they walked to their friends through our yard.
Sigh.

Fireworks!

Hey dudes.

Last night the guy across the street was making so much noise, it was making me crazy! There was a loud boom! then lots of lights and stars in the sky!

I was running around like crazy, then I thought maybe if I barked and growled they would
Finally, they did.

It is so hard keeping the neighborhood peaceful and protecting my family.
What do you do when those strange people put the lights in the sky?

It is so fun making her CRAZY!!

A couple days ago, Mom made cookies. Yum!
When will she learn? If she leaves them out, they're never too hot for me!!

Then yesterday she spent a looong time making some kind of chips with zucchini, cheese and eggs. She had them stored away until this morning....heehee.
Of course, I'll eat zucchini if they're covered in CHEESE!!

Mom said, "I hope you puke."
I didn't. HA.

I LOVE Bandanas!!

You know, I have my Easter bandana, and yes I'm man enough to wear pink!
I also have a Christmas one thanks to Grandma, St. Patrick's Day and several others including my black pirate bandana that I am wearing right now.
Sometimes I even layer them and wear two at a time!
And don't say it's my mom making me wear them either! When she washes them I just feel naked! And when they come out of the dryer, I will grab it and take it to Mom to put it on for me!
Now I just need ideas for others. I just got this cool tropical one, and I also have a 4th of July one...
I will need a Thanksgiving one,...
Grandma's friend's dog even had one for the Indy 500!

Yum by Howard the Very Tall Dog

My name is Howard. I'm a blue Great Dane. I am almost 3 years old and I am VERY TALL. When I stand next to my mom, my head is level with her chest. If I stand on my back feet, I am almost over six feet tall.

So Mom was making cookies last night. I was really excited because she NEVER makes those cookies that you use the cookie cutters for. She even went out and bought special egg and chick shaped ones! They were soo cute!
She kept yelling at me to go away. Every time I put my nose in the butter, she would yell!
So I went away...for a while. Actually, I was just waiting for the PERFECT time to make my move.
She rolled out the dough, cut them out, put them on the pan and into the oven...then she took them out and they smelled GREAT!!
Then she hid them in the microwave.
Then later last night, she took them out to cook something else and I made my move!
When she came downstairs they were GONE!! All of the cookies were mine mine mine!!
I didn't like sitting in the crate for the night though...
You'd think she would learn. I ate a whole sheet carrot cake that she baked for her mom's big birthday party back in December. It was AWESOME!!
That's what you get with a TALL DOG.

Not a great adventure by Howard the Very Tall Dog

Hey everybody,
Had to say hi and update you on my latest adventures. Last night I opened the cupboard under the sink and ate some AWESOME garbage! Oh man, it was worth the time in the crate!!
But....this morning, it made me want to , I started breathing weird and gagging, then Mom went and opened the back door and I ran outside and Mom says I was good not to do it on the carpet.
Then today, this new dog came to our front door with his owner. It was a six month old great dane little boy named Winston, who came to visit me!! Very fun!
I was really nice and sniffed him but he kept trying to....well you know. But he was very cute!
Very fun! Just so you know, DON'T eat garbage and if you have to , go OUTSIDE.

Just had to tell y'all...this morning VERY early I got a very weird feeling, so I woke up Dad who was fell asleep on the couch. I usually sleep very late on my own bed upstairs. But I just had to go outside and see what the deal was!
Something just wasn't right, so I barked really loud to wake everyone up!
I woke up Mom, and she was worried I woke up the neighbors with my big WOOF.
But Mom says when she was laying in bed a few minutes later she felt her bed shaking...
It was an earthquake!!
I tried to warn everyone, but they didn't listen. Except Mom!

Hi guys,
Just thought I'd tell you what happened last night to me. It wasn't a big deal to me, but my mom was very amazed.
Mom, Dad and that Kid left me at about 1 in the afternoon, I was watching my soaps. They were going on a day trip to Chicago, which is about 2 hours away. So they fed me and left, locked the doors too.
Cool. No big deal.
Mom says she was worried because she knew they would be gone a while and didn't want me to pee in the house. They FINALLY got back around 10pm - TEN HOURS LATER. But guess what? I didn't pee. Wanna know why?
I opened the locked slider door myself and went outside. No big deal. I'm a smart dog right?
Pretty cool!

Driving them CRAZY by Howard the Very Tall Dog

Boy did I get her yesterday! The KID broke the butter dish last week and Mom finally bought a new one.

She brought it home, it was glass and really pretty. But she is making me mad these days, not letting me do my gardening outside, and I got her back!

As soon as she took the butter dish out of the bag, I grabbed something on the counter and the butter dish fell on the floor and broke! She was
